Stoked to announce the sound mix for my short film Friend has been completed! Our Supervising Sound Editor Nick Dixon has done a superb job, crafting an awards-worthy sound mix at Black Edge Sound Studios and completing the final mix at Creative Outpost.

Nick oversaw ADR (recorded by David Poole at Lobster Sound and refined by award-winning Dialogue Editor Chris Roberts at Resound Sound), plus foley and sound FX (aided by Assistant Sound Editor Alex Shenton), before weaving the elements into a rich and dramatically powerful mix.

We were fortunate enough to complete the project at the newly finished Creative Outpost in Soho, thanks to Managing Director Danny Etherington. Working in their deluxe Dolby-certified studio, Nick and Chris pushed the mix to realise its fullest potential (with a troubleshooting assist from Head of Sound Dave Robinson).

It’s been a long, hard journey but we’ve finally made it, and I’m extremely proud of the work Nick and his team have done. The next step is to submit the film to festivals — watch this space for news on when and where you can experience Friend in all its surround sound glory!
