Am stoked to announce that the sound mix for my new short film The Fallen Woman has been completed!

The journey began when Supervising Sound Editor Nick Dixon — who worked on my previous short Friend — returned to collaborate on the supernatural thriller, creating an atmospheric and densely layered mix at Black Edge Sound Studios.

Nick assembled a superb team, with foley being created by Ben Cross and Ian Waggott (whose credits include such films as Saint Maud and Possessor) and dialogue being finessed by award-winning Dialogue Editor Chris Roberts at Resound Sound.

The final mix was then completed by Re-Recording Mixer Conor Kelly at Goldcrest Post Production in Soho. It was a thrill to sit in with Conor as he fine-tuned the mix to create 5.1 and stereo versions that truly allowed Nick and his team’s hard work to shine.

Sound is a labour-intensive and critical element in a film’s effectiveness, and I’m immensely grateful for the long hours and expert craftsmanship the team have devoted to the film.

The next step will be submitting The Fallen Woman to festivals - with a bit of luck we’ll be hearing this stunning mix with an audience in the near future. Watch this space!
