Sublime Horror has published a review of Binocular - the diptych of unsettling stories by Nick Sidhu and myself - and we’re chuffed to report it’s a thumbs-up.

Reviewer Lucy Wood described the book as “a tightly controlled, claustrophobic double bill of menace”.

She described Nick’s story ‘Six’ as “a sharp, stinging descent into madness that could happen to any one of us”, while she said of my story ‘Selkie’ that “Smith handles the blend of mystical lore and harsh reality very well indeed.”

The review concluded by saying that “considering we know full well that we know we’re letting ourselves in for a ride on the black side, Binocular is twisty and grim, and surprising.”

Check out Lucy’s full review here and take some time to peruse the rest of Peter Meinertzhagen’s beautifully curated site. Sublime Horror fully lives up to its name, and we’re honoured to have received some attention in its hallowed pages.
